ITOP (Intercontinental Transport of Ozone and Precursors) is an international project to study the intercontinental transport of air pollutants. Research teams from Germany, France, the UK and the USA monitored atmospheric pollutants over the East coast of North America, Azores and the West coast of Europe via synchronised flights over these regions. The Leicester University Atmospheric Group, alongside other teams from around the UK, flew on the FAAM BAe-146 aircraft with the PERCA instrument. Details of our contribution to ITOP can be found on the page of PhD student Alex Parker. Further details of the British contribution to the ITOP program can be found at the BADC/NERC website.
